Paged|Fire Retardant Plywood

EN 13501-1

Also: EN 13501, EN13501-1, BS EN 13501-1

European standard for the reaction-to-fire classification of construction products and building elements. Defines the testing methodology and the Euroclass system (A1-F + smoke s1-s3 + droplets d0-d2).

EN 13501-1 is the harmonized European standard that classifies the reaction-to-fire performance of construction products. It defines the laboratory test procedures (Single Burning Item test EN 13823, ignitability EN ISO 11925-2, non-combustibility EN ISO 1182) and consolidates the results into the Euroclass letter rating plus smoke (s) and droplet (d) sub-classes.

For most building applications a CE-marked construction product must declare its reaction-to-fire class under EN 13501-1. Fire retardant plywood for walls, ceilings, partitions and structural sheathing is typically classified Bfl-s1 (floor) or B-s1,d0 (wall/ceiling).
